i think the biggest bit of qol id like is the abiltiy to replace buildi9ngs with anything higher tier instead of just tier+1
the first tier of each reactor and the sales buildings seems to never be worth it, or if your coming back from an afk session as well you need to upgrade +2 tiers alot
Technically, if the game was better balanced, it wouldn't be a problem to only being able to upgrade one level. The balance should be better in 1.0 but I will increase the number of levels which you can upgrade as well, just in case.
I played a few hours strait and really enjoyed my time. This is a very fun and chill game with a few missing QOL.
The main one that is lacking for me is the ability to upgrade any lvl of building to any other lvl. (skipping lvl)
For instance, upgrading a small coal generator to a fusion generator in one click, instead of either having to delete the building first OR having to upgrade every lvl in between.
Additionally, the end of the game is a bit unbalance. Adding a Medium and Large Buisiness District would be amazing.
Anyhow, amazing game for your first idler! Great job
I finished the game and was invested the whole time. Some balancing needed probably but I'm not too invested in the mechanics of increment games. I enjoyed it at least. Simple yet addictive!
As someone else wrote, a tad bit more QOL would be welcome!
About QOL changes, I found your game feel very similar to the Reactor Knockoff in some balance/game-cycle aspects to me. And I miss some hotkeys from it.
Like Ctrl+Click=upgradeAllTypeUnderCursorToSelected, rightClick=delete, Ctrl+rightClick=deleteAllThisType.
Also eyedropper and upgrade degrade hotkeys be cool.
I thought it's no so difficult to implement, but dramatically raise QOL... (it's event don't need a new UI except maybe shortcut info)
And yes, it is inspired a lot by Energy Sector Tycoon. It's my first attempt at making an idle game so I thought I would start out simple and add more ideas as I go.
I could definitely add some shortcut keys to the game. I'll see what I can do. But I'm not about an upgrade all/delete all button as it might take away all of the gameplay.
Great game. I lost track of time for a but while playing it. Very engaging and easy to understand for beginners.
I would just like to point out, regarding 'what is left for v1.0 is balance improvements and tweak gameplay', that upgrades to amount to energy sold vs amount of heat converted to energy seem - to me - somewhat unbalanced as the energy sold was faster to upgrade than heat conversion could be made [my entire map was pretty much all small generators and solar panel sinks] - which only changed when I finally unlocked the medium generators. My direct suggestion to this is either make the office upgrades more expensive or expedite the time to obtain the medium generators.
Additionally, it would be good if we could delete buildings with right click, especially while already in build mode.
Hope this is understandable - I suck at writing things in an understandable way - and that it's appropriate. Keep up the great game.
I agree that there is something very off with the balance between heat generators and generators and will be something that I will be looking into when rebalancing stuff for v1.0.
Hm... I'll try out deleting buildings with right-click and see how it feels.

Thank you for trying out the game :)
I will be adding some QoL that people have requested and I hope that the game will be more like a proper idle game once I have rebalanced everything.

Simple but addictive!

Great game.
Suggestion for browser players: Full screen mode.
Thank you :)
I've added the Itch full screen button for now.
